Step 1
Find the stripped threads and drill out the hole with a 1/4 inch Drill. Do not go too deep, only drill out the old threads. Lay down a Shop towel in the engine area to keep out pieces of metal.
Step 2
Put the tap into the handle of the tool and then put oil on the tap threads. I used a ratcheting type tap handle.
Step 3
Slowly, SLOWLY! Tap out the drilled hole after cleaning out particles. Make sure to continuously back out the tap to get rid of shavings. If you do not back out after every few turns you will snap the tap off in the hole.
Step 4
Take your Heli Coil install tool and put a heli coil on the end, make sure the tang is at the bottom. Thread it into the hole until it bottoms out, now pull the tool out turn it 90 degrees and tap it with something heavy to break off the tang.
